I brought you flowers... well at least the pictures! The warehouse club near me had a special event going where you could get in without a membership over the weekend. I have to tell you, I think I'm going to join simply for the flowers!

They had a nice selection of roses, carnations and a few other varieties. The roses were beautiful. I bought myself a dozen, and picked up a dozen for my sister as well. She certainly deserves them... and I just couldn't resist their beauty.

I plucked out the baby's breath and other filler greens that accompanied them and popped a flower frog in the bottom of a ceramic crock that fits inside this silver bucket I found at the thrift store a few weeks ago.

I wasn't sure that I liked the bucket once I got it home; it pales in comparison to the other one I found. Filled with these beautiful pink roses... it's beauty shows.

It doesn't have to be curvy and intricate... the simple lines and beauty of the metal are enough.I think it's the contrast between the tarnished, plain worn surface and simple lines and the bright, delicate petals of the roses... and such a fabulous color to boot, that make the combination so stunning. And most definitely... worth sharing!

At long last the lilacs have bloomed in my back yard! It's still pretty chilly outside here and I thought I would be able to enjoy them more in the house.

Their fragrance is heavenly. They looked so pretty rough cut on this silver tray... too bad they need water...

I love the handles on this piece--the carving is so very intricate. I picked it up at the thrift store some time ago. I keep in on my office table to catch mail each day.  After this I think I'll be taking it out to the garden all season to hold my flower sprays.

The flowers found their home in this silver champagne cooler which I have used over and over and over again in the short time I have had it. You can read the story behind this favorite thrift store find here.

One thrifted silver champagne cooler used as a vase, a bunch of lilacs cut from the back yard... love it. I've created a new blog label just for the cooler! You can find other posts featuring it here.

Spring has arrived... at least on my kitchen table...

Tulips from the market to get me in the spirit...

I love the bright pink with a touch of white around the edges...

Placed inside a silver champagne cooler. I do need another one of these--I am always finding great uses for it around the house and the during the holidays as well.

There's something about a touch of silver that just makes everything more beautiful. Even if it is from the thrift store!

The tulips are actually in a small pottery crock tucked in the cooler.   I'm hoping the warm weather of Spring arrives soon.... next stop, the nursery for perennials!
