With Thanksgiving just about two weeks away, you'll definitely find this tablescape from Nancy's Daily Dish full of inspiration. The gorgeous transferware dishes are layered upon other sets and mixed with grapevine, pine cones and other warm elements sure to give you some great ideas for your own Thanksgiving table.

This beautiful nursery makeover looks straight out of a Pottery Barn catalog. Actually, I think it even looks better than that! I love all the calm color and wait until you see the cute school-house inspired custom chalkboard Kristine at The Painted Hive has made.


This link caught my eye because of the adorable packaging. I really like the simplicity of the baker's twine in holiday red. I am always looking for small gifts and stocking stuffers and this tutorial for a salt scrub fits the bill! Check out the "how-to" at Bliss Images and Beyond



This beautiful hutch didn't start out as such. It was black and brown and not nearly what it has become under the talented hand of Minday at Pretty in Paint.

For some reason, I always seem to take down the Halloween decor really quickly. I have reverted back to basic fall touches in a few key spots in my home. This beautiful armoire is one of my favorite spots to decorate. For the next few weeks, it will sport "late fall slash peacock" style. I have been enamored with Peacock inspiration this fall; I have a Pinterest board devoted to it.



I think it's a nice addition to my fall decorations. The colors are so rich--a nice contrast to the warm oranges and yellows of fall.


A peacock feather added to my vase of pussy willows is so easy {with a new copper glittered fern giving nod to the coming holidays}. A clip-on bird in the same color family was another fun add on.


A clock from Home Goods that I've had for ages to add that essential bit of black that I love.
 


I've added a sprig of leaves for the touch of fall. The pretty ruffled knit throw was put there out of necessity when not being used. The goldens are way too interested in it and it's much safer up here.

They do look like little angels here but they do have their moments. One of their favorite indoor games is tug of war with an old baby blanket that Marley arrived with. Besides, I like how the throw looks up there!

All the outdoor chores I needed to get done before the winter chill arrives are just about complete. My thoughts have moved inside, ready to fluff my rooms for comfortable evenings at home on a cold night.

One of those rooms to fluff would be my craft room. I sat down last night to create some birthday cards and ended up bringing the supplies into my family room. I have a craft space in the basement of our house. It's really two folding tables from a warehouse club with my craft supplies stored randomly nearby. It's workable... but last night when I was watching the Nate Berkus show on my DVR while working on my cards, I was longing for a warm space on the first floor where the goldens could keep me company and I didn't feel so isolated.

I've begun checking out different craft rooms and storage ideas online and started a board on Pinterest with a few of my finds. While clicking along, I came across a planning tool and furniture designed by who else, but Martha Stewart, on HomeDecorators.com



All of this furniture is very pretty, but what I would really like is to integrate the craft storage into my current family room so that I can stay in that first-floor space, enjoy the DVR and the company of my goldens, and still have my craft supplies close at hand.This top room is my favorite. I love the table that holds all the magazine dividers, and it's neighbor with the wrapping paper rolls is pretty awesome too.



I don't really want my space to look like a craft space... so I just need a few elements. A desk of course, a comfortable chair, and then storage. Lots of storage.



I like this furniture, but I was trying to improvise with what I might already have on hand. For instance, the armoire in the picture above... I have an old armoire my sister gave me. It's not quite as big, but it looks right at home in that room and it could store a lot of supplies.




I just gave my daughter a desk I used to have in the entry. That would have been perfect behind a sofa to use as a kind of sofa table/work surface. Instead I'll have to make do with another piece of furniture. Perhaps my farm table from the office {nope, it's too big}or a smaller desk I have used to hold a sewing machine upstairs.This last room would be my ideal design office... at work, but not for home.

Open storage in pretty jars and such is nice for a dedicated craft space, but this wouldn't fly if I was going to use my family room. Is it possible to have a space to craft that also functions as a family room? Not sure.. but you can bet I am going to try!

I like to do a little something different with my fall decor each year. I kept some of the same floral elements as last year, but added a few new items. I began with a thrifted silver vase filled with fallen branches from the yard.


This collection of branches started out with a Halloween idea in mind. I was going to spray paint them. The more I looked at the plain branches contrasting with the bright silver vase I decided to keep them natural.


The vase was the first thing I put on the mantel. I confess I like the simple beauty of this piece all by itself. Not for this fall, but perhaps in January... when the house has been dressed to the hilt for several months and I am ready for a clean and simple slate.



Rather than stick with typical oranges, reds and yellows, I like the bright yellow-green of the apples. The color is the same as in the painting. Warm and bright at the same time.


I would love to live on this street. It is right out of a storybook setting.


A bouquet of mums with leaves and pumpkin sprays warm it up a bit. It was nice to get the mantel done. It's really the first thing you see when you walk into the room. Fall has come to the dining room!

My favorite season is fall. I love the crisp air and fabulous colors that only fall can bring. Orange is one of those colors... have you noticed it has become more popular? I am seeing it it the new clothing collections and in home decor as well.

Isn't this a fun door? The color just pops! This desk below is pretty fun as well. Actually you could probably paint it any color; the lines are fabulous--look at those cute legs.

I am not brave enough to go orange on such a grand scale... I'm more likely to begin with small accents like these throw pillows. Easy enough to change out with the seasons!

I can't decide if I love the wall color or the headboard in this bedroom more. I think it's the headboard... but it is set off so well against that bright orange wall.

This gathering space has so many great elements but of course the first thing you notice is the orange chairs. I love this setup of an intimate space for conversation or casual dinner in front of the fireplace. The leopard print pillows look amazing with orange. This is my favorite use of orange--I could really live with those chairs {and the pillows please}!
