Just a quick holiday post with a few pictures of these beautiful homes dressed up for the 4th of July holiday.
Aren't they beautiful? Of course the historic architecture of these homes makes them even more appealing. The wrought iron fence above is another element I love about this home.
You can tell the owners are most definitely house proud, adding bits of 4th of July finery here and there...
to bring your eye to the prettiest parts of the home, or to show off it's simplicity. This was just a sampling of the beautiful homes I saw on a morning walk this weekend in Iowa City, Iowa.

The answer, red,white and blue, where possible vintage flags. I just love this holiday. I like the less is more approach like the homes in your pictures.

These are so pretty. I usually put some vintage looking flags in my potted plants out front but when I want to get them out of the garage I remembered I'd thrown them away because they got ruined during the great reroof last year. So I didn't put out anything this year. My house doesn't look very American but I do love a big white colonial with lots of bunting.

ReplyDeleteWe don't decorate for the 4th. In fact, the only holidays that get any action with us are Halloween and Christmas, and even those are pretty sparse. Maybe because the condo is so small?
